Unassisted Triple Play: nearly impossible, the rarest play in baseball showed up in New York, a little more than a year since the last one, and only the 15th in 'modern baseball'. Philadelphia's Eric Bruntlett did it, a guy who isn't always in the line-up.
Sure, that's what's printed, and that's what happened. It's only the second unassisted triple play to ever end a game. That's what is printed.
What isn't printed is what can't be printed... there were words on the lips of Mets baseball players, but those words can't equate what they felt being a part of history. Phillies players, they didn't really verbalize a whole lot either.
It's history folks. It's history. And Eric Bruntlett will always know what he did was pretty special.
